<Sales of Humble Jumble>
In England, one cheap and fun way to spend a weekend is to go to a jumble sale.
The idea of a jumble sale is to raise money for schools, hospitals and so on.
The organizers go round the local community collecting jumble (old or unwanted possessions), and sell them at low prices.
At the jumble sale, people go along to search through piles of old clothes, toys, and so on. They are very social events where people can meet, interact, bump into old friends, and make new friends
<information>
Åggarage salesÅh or Ågfliea marketsÅh are the similar events in Japan.
But someone from another country might have a hard time to get the information.
Åglocal forum" will provide information of events, activities, places, medical centers, and life in general of the local area.
If any readers can provide information, opinions or questions,
please join us on this forum by contacting us info@tomomo.co.jp or call us !

<The big play -- Koshien stadium-->
One of the most important events of summer, for Japanese people, is the annual high school baseball championship.
The tournament is extremely competitive. High schools play for the opportunity to represent their prefecture at Koshien stadium in a knockout style competition. Only one team can become the national champions. Each year the public and the talent scouts return to Koshien stadium to support the young and hopeful baseball players.
<Information>
When you come to Koshien stadium, make sure you stop by ÅgJoe-guyÅh (a sports bar right outside the stadium) Just sit down with a cold beer and watch the game on their big screen TV, and listen to the stadium crowd roar when they hit a home run.
Even if youÅfre not crazy about Japanese baseball, you can enjoy various sports on their satellite TV!
So hurry!! Before you miss the big play!!

<ItÅfs all about good luck!>
Need help with making your wish come true this year?
At Nishinomiya Ebisu shrine, there is an event that takes place that is just as important as New Years and is celebrated by people from all over Japan. On January 9th, 10th, and 11th, Nishinomya Ebisu shrine becomes overflowed with people who are seeking good luck for their families and their businesses, big or small.
During this 3day event, people pray to Ebisu, who is a god of good luck after throwing money at it. Also there is a huge tuna that people place their coins on. Many people leave with good luck charms that are sold in different sizes, most commonly decorated tree branches that they will keep in their homes until the next Ebisu visit.
The most exciting part of this festival takes place in the early morning of the 10th. Thousands of men wait outside the gate and as the gate opens at 6am, they all rush to the center of the shrineÅfs main grounds, competing to be the Ågfuku otokoÅh (good luck man.) if you are aggressive enough, you could beat everybody by running the 200meters and become the 1st foreigner fuku otoko.

<Renting Cars in Japan >
For most foreigners in Japan transportation consists of boarding trains, catching buses, or paying small fortunes on taxi fares.  It is, however, possible to enjoy the freedom of the open road by renting a car. To get behind the wheel you will need your passport, an international driver’s license and some means of verifying your place of residence in Japan, such as an alien registration card.  There isn’t much else to it except, for some of us, the continually lurking language barrier road block.  If you are reading Japanese newspapers and chatting up the locals fluently, then no worry.  If not, you’d better bring your personal interpreter.  There is another avenue, however, to help detour this situation. Hertz Rental Car is affiliated with Toyota Rentals.  You can reserve a car at Toyota Rentals in Japan through any of the Hertz foreign offices and get over the language barrier bump in the road hassle free. So, fasten your seat belts and hit the accelerator.  Happy Driving.

<It's summer.>
Let’s go swimming. But you don’t have to go too far!  Sounds good, huh? There are some places you can go in this area. Many kids play in the Ashiya River. But the beaches around here are not clean enough and you’re not allowed to swim. So, try the public swimming pools. They will be open from first of July to the end of August. Get your swimsuits and go now before it gets crowded. I hope you enjoy the summer in Japan.

<HANABI>
Hanabi (fireworks) are one of the biggest events during the Japanese summer. Especially large-scale fireworks displays are a common sight during the season. There are going to be thousands of skyrocket fireworks displays in the sky. People wear yukata (kimono) and shout “Tamaya” or “Kagiya” during the displays. “Tamaya” and “Kagiya” are the oldest hanabi makers who started to compete with each other, displaying their hanabi in the Edo Period.  That’s how this event started. It’s hot and humid, but you can forget about discomfort with the beautiful colors of fireworks and the big sound.
